While all types of local government entities in Idaho must follow many of the same laws, each entity is also governed by its own set of statutes that dictate rules for operation and governance. We have worked with multiple types of Idaho local governments across the state, from cities and counties to water and sewer districts. Our knowledge of the law governing each type of local government, coupled with our firm grasp of the Idaho Open Meetings Act, the Idaho Public Records Act, public contracting laws for political subdivisions and other generally applicable laws gives us a unique perspective when working with our clients. We also represent school districts and charter schools in a wide range of legal issues related to both general education and special education students. We have extensive experience in advising clients on student suspension and other discipline issues, student records and privacy, and IDEA and Section 504 law, and have successfully defended our clients in litigation related to these issues. Our work for school districts and charter schools also includes providing guidance on facilities and real property-related matters, from contractor selection to contract review.
